Let Summer Begin....

Well because this is the first week with Lincoln home all day with no school we decided to set goals and ground rules. It's going to be harder for me to stick to the rules then him but I hope I can do it.
Chores....I've got the cutest chart for Lincoln and he loves to see how great he does. Today he had to Get dressed, make his bed, clean up his toys and brush his teeth before he could do anything else. When he went into brush his teeth he decided he needed to do his hair too. Said he was a rock star. You can sort of tell in the picture but he spiked the sides and flattened the front. Then after lunch he had more he had to do. He loved being in charge of himself and really put pride into his chores it was lots of fun. I loved his bed made by himself. I tried to help and he kicked me out of the room.
TV....we're trying to limit it to two hours at the most and he has to earn any time at all. Like I said harder for me.... :)

My next fun adventure was the neighbor asked me to watch her babies tonight. TWINS, 8 month olds. They are adorable. The lady was so nervous to ask me to watch them it was funny, and she and her husband were so grateful when they picked them up you'd think I'd just given them a million dollars.

In the beginning the babies were happy and Lincoln was happy to entertain. But after a while the little girl was ticked her mom was not there and the boy was ticked the girl was getting all the attention. I finally calmed them both down by holding them both at the same time and bouncing. If I had twins I'd be thinner and lots buffer. :)
How do you lay two sleeping babies down without dropping them or waking them up. You don't. I tried to figure it out, but ended up just waking them both up. ;(
They were so fun and cute though, it made me excited for our comming arrival. And it was so cute to see Lincoln helping and loving the babies. But when they were crying he just covered his ears and left. It was funny.

can you say handful? My goodness I don't know where to even begin with twins. Was Jared there to help? Good luck with the super neat bed and beautiful hair.

I was not there, I called to check in a few times but she is just that amazing. She has had experience with holding one at a time at church but this was Anna's first adventure solo. Great job, I'm very impressed! Love you.

Anna you are such a sweetheart, I bet those parents had not been out since the babies were born. You are really amazing to get both of them asleep at the same time. WAY TO GO!!!

Good job with the twins Anna! I guess being a baby lover all your life pays off!
I can see Alyssa now with her own 9 kids (her plan) plus babysitting the neighbor's twins! She'd be in hectic heaven.

Kudos to you! Twins terrify me and I panic a little at the thought.

Super Mom! See, two of different ages can't be that bad, right? Can't wait to get confirmation on that little babe of yours...when is your next appointment?

So much to comment on! First off please stop telling me that Lincoln has tantrums. I keep thinking okay now how did Lincoln act one year ago and how does he act now in the hopes that Michael will get a little better with time (he's getting SOO much better and i love his guts no matter what but it's ALWAYS nice to have less tantrums than before.) I think you're right. 3 is looking like it will be much more difficult than two.

AND You're amazing. Two babies at once! I bet their parents were excited! You're a great example. If you can handle two screaming babies and a three year old at the same time I think you'll be good with one new baby and a three year old!
