baby girl

I felt bad some had that horrible picture as the pop up on their blogs, had to add a cute one of Ruby Ann. :)
We had a long sad week last week. Last Saturday for Valentines Jared's sister offered to watch the kids. About ten minutes after we left Ruby threw up. By time we got home Lincoln had a fever of 101 and Ruby was working on 103. We got them both into the Dr. on Sunday and found out Lincoln had Strep and Ruby had strep plus they were worried about pneumonia. We had to get a chest X-ray done on her and I don't know if you've seen them do a chest X-ray on a baby, but it put tears in my eyes. They have to have their arms up so they strap them into this plexi glass thing with their arms up called a pig-o-srat.
Unlike this child Ruby screamed the whole time, who could blame her though.
Anyway, we got antibiotics for both and headed home. Lincoln started getting better and didn't even miss any school because of Presidents Day. Ruby on the other hand seemed to just get worse. By Tuesday we were back at the clinic worried about dehydration, we had to go get her blood checked (another very sad medical procedure for a baby). Her fever wasn't going away and she wouldn't eat or drink anything.
Tried to get her outside to cool off. She loves the wagon, loves m&m's, neither were making her the least bit happy.
Lucky for us we didn't have to get her admitted, just had to start forcing liquids in her. By wed her fever finally broke and Thursday she was starting to drink on her own. (still barfing like you don't even want to know though)
We rejoiced on Saturday, we had our first barf free, happy day with baby girl. It is so nice to have her back. Jared and I just keep saying all day, so nice to have her back. :) (even if she's so skinny now)

What a sad sad week for you guys. Poor little Ruby. Glad she is doing better. It'll be nice when winter and all the sicknesses are sent on their way.

Dear Ruby,
I am sorry you are sick and barfing but so happy you are still fun to play with.

That picture of the child ready for the X-ray makes me want to cry. How miserable for anybody! I'm glad she's doing better.

That xray is crazy. Poor Ruby. I'm glad she's better. I know what you mean about the skinny - it makes you feel bad again every time you change their diaper and see how little their tummy is after being sick like that.

I'm glad she's feeling better. SOrry it was so rough. Getting blood at that age is not fun for anyone.

That really stinks for everyone. I am so sorry, but I am glad that she and Lincoln are feeling better. I hope you and Jared don't have to cycle through it.
That x-ray thing is horrible.
