Lincoln goes to the dentist

I think I was more nervous for him. For the past month or even longer we've been talking about him going to the dentist. We had him so excited that for the past couple weeks he's been asking, "Do I get to go to the dentist today?" He was so excited today he could hardly take his nap. We lied the whole way there, telling him how much fun the dentist is and how he just tickles your teeth. I was starting to really get nervous about the possible let down.
But we picked a good pediatric dentist. You walk in and there are playstations to play on, chalk paint so you can write on the walls. Big aquariums, with a sea horse. A lizard and even a large train that goes along the ceiling.
The dental assistant (a guy, which I think that helped, because we had talked about a "he" in all our lies) took his X-rays. He was amazing, having him open like a tiger and bite down and it was really cute. Then in the exam room, lo and behold a TV on the ceiling and he could watch Shrek the third or ratitoui neither of which he had seen. So with Shrek going on in his ears he really didn't care what they did to him. Mommy was there for support, (side note, I'm a really big chicken when it comes to dentists) willing to hold his hand and reassure any fears. But mommy was not needed. Shrek was all that was needed. The assistant would have to take the headphones out just to get him to open or shut his mouth at the appropriate times.
Anyway, as always he is getting too big and I can't stop the clock. Good news though, NO CAVITIES. So he won't have to learn the terrors of the dentist yet. :)

Wow, I thought we had a fun dentist. Yours beats us with the seahorse. I too dislike going to the dentist. Bethy and Lyss just went and luckily had no cavities. I do not look forward to the day when they get one. I think my first cavity came as a 15 yr old, so maybe I still have a good decade before I have to deal with that for them.
